A couple of months ago, Kathy and I packed up the car for a road trip to Toronto to shoot a full day at Casa Loma. We were there to photograph two awesome couples in the historical castle which is in the middle of the city.  It was such an amazing day!!  Here is one of the couples’ we photographed… meet Jeff and Emma.  They are getting married TOMORROW, and we are so excited !!

The world is a small place.. so they say… I would have to agree! Emma and Jeff are both from Ottawa and moved to the big city. Emma and I, went to elementary school together, lived around the corner from each other and also played competitive soccer growing up!  It was so great to see her after all of these years, gorgeous, engaged, grown up, and still the same amazing girl that I remembered. Not only that, Kathy went to the same university with Jeff so…. basically it was just one big reunion at a castle!

Jeff proposed to Emma on pretty much the only rooftop that has a perfect view of the Toronto city skyline. He spelt out ‘marry me’ with roses… long stem roses…. hundreds of them…..

They are a gorgeous couple and we can’t wait to see Emma as a beautiful bride. So stay tuned…..

The hastag for their wedding is #jeffemmawedding2013  follow us for all the fun 🙂

So… let’s play a game… What character… superhero if you will, do you think Jeff looks like? …… You got it, the modern day Clark Kent! I kept on looking at him thinking he was going to disappear, rip off his shirt and go out in the big bad city to save people…

Clearly, that never happened… but at least Emma found her very own super hero!PINIMAGE

We just had to see if she could carry him and she could. She is small but mighty.

It’s ok to be sad, it’s ok to cry,
I promise I’ll be by your side.
I’ll be your big brother, your best friend,
tractors, trains, tree houses, playing pretend.
Green eggs and ham, Winnie the Poo,
I’ll read those to you too.

The greatest gift we can give our children is backup.  Also known as ‘siblings’.  I call it backup because that’s exactly what it is when you have a sibling.  Someone extra to play with, extra pair of eyes to watch over you, extra heart to love you, extra tears and hugs to get through life together, extra laugh to make memories.  Life is beautiful, but there are no promises that life will be easy.  Having an extra someone to share the joys along with the heartbreaks, makes life double the fun and half the pain.

Meet Elias, Mary, Gabriel, and baby Jasiel, they are an amazing family and I have loved getting to know them over the last few months.  Gaby waited 11 years to become a big brother, but if you asked him… Jasiel was worth the wait !!  They are a musical family, so the locations for this shoot were important.  We photographed at the studio, at their home and most importantly … we photographed at their church by the grand piano.  This church means the world to them and binds them all together, as does music, and their love for one another.  Enjoy !!

Here are a few photos from Mary’s shower, it was such a great afternoon spent together with fabulous ladies.  All waiting to meet and love little Jasiel. Mary’s sister Christine did a wonderful job planning this party, love is in the details, love is in the laughter xo

Some of my favourite ladies and babies in these photos below, baby Arielle was still mama’s belly here too 🙂

PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEThis was by far the funniest game I’ve ever seen at a baby shower, toilet paper diapers. Hilarious !!PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGE

Be safe, happy, healthy… love

Kathy

Children have this magnetic capability that stops time while you are with them. They are captivating in all that they learn each day and even the slightest facial expression can just make your heart jump. We just couldn’t get enough of this little angel Rocco. He was so good and it was so cute to watch him get distracted with everything that was around him!

We took advantage of our time together, getting him ready for his baptism and took more pictures with his beautiful mother! This was a good day and in true Kathy fashion, the rain held out until we were done taking pictures outside!

Graphic design has always been a big part of what we do. It comes in handy when we are making our digital albums, thank you cards and invitations, etc. By using photos in invitations it becomes a beautiful keepsake that is so personal rather than just an invite. Here is one of Kathy’s invitations that she recently created for Baby Rocco’s Christening. It was a great excuse to take pictures of Rocco and  the invitations became such a bonus!

Having a new baby in the house always causes quite the stir in routine, life, love and especially sleep. How about having a toddler boy, then throw newborn twins into the mix? This mother is my hero, she make it look so easy. Where she finds her energy no one really knows. But it’s true when they say it takes a village to raise a child.

Kathy spent some time with Samira and Nabil capturing their life and routine before the twins.  As much as you can be prepared to have three, really four boys including her husband in the house at one time I am sure it is a surreal feeling in reality. The most precious of times during the day typically happens when there is no one able to capture a picture. It is our greatest gift to you, to give you something that only a fly on the wall can see.

When Gabriel and Oliver arrived,  Kathy and I went to the house to take part on a regular day in the life of the Daoud’s. We got to hold, feed, burp, sing, and dance with these two precious boys. Kathy was giddy with baby fever all day! There is something so calming about holding a new born and watching them sleep. The biggest challenge in shooting twin newborns is to have both babies happy and sleeping at the exact same time. It happened and we have the proof.

To all women who embark on the journey of having children. You truly are the roots that set the health and love of our future. You carry the most important and greatest burden to bare; motherhood.

Spread love,

AC

I saved the best picture for last. Look at the little guy on the right, just so tired! This is a perfect family picture because it is authentic. In every way. It also gives me a good chuckle because you didn’t even have to be there :).

We get to take pictures of people in the happiest of times in their life. We get to watch them as they grow up and even as their love grows for each other! We really couldn’t ask for a better job.

This next couple is just that! We first met at their engagement and today we see them on their one year anniversary! Just as happy as can be, in their own element. We look forward to many more beautiful life moments and wish you many more happy anniversaries to come!
